Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with Level 1 trauma acute care experience for an inpatient acute care hospital assignment at a large academic medical center.

Details

• Inpatient acute care setting at a large Level 1 trauma, academic teaching hospital with 1,259 staffed beds
• Therapy services provided across a wide range of patient care areas including medicine, surgery, orthopedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary, and oncology
• May be utilized across any therapy service line to meet facility needs
• Primary shift is Monday–Friday, 7:00–15:30 (start time flexible up to 8:00)
• One weekend (Saturday and Sunday) required per 4-week period, with a compensatory day off during that week
• No on-call requirements
• Charting performed in Epic; experience required for certain units
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of Level 1 trauma acute care PT experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Valid MO State License required for consideration; pending IL license accepted (must be noted)
• License required if applicable
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with a variety of patient populations
• Experience with acute care documentation, assessments, patient/family education, and safety and injury prevention
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted

Additional Information

• Daily responsibilities include assessments, documentation, patient and family education, and safety and injury prevention across inpatient acute care settings
• Scrub color requirement: black or grey
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
• Parking passes are available on a monthly basis through the facility's Public Safety department; parking information is provided during orientation
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former permanent employees of this facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Allied travelers may work up to 12 months before a required 6-month break in service
