Department Summary The School of Information (SOI) offers three master’s degree programs: MLIS, MARA, MS in Informatics and an undergraduate degree in Information Science and Data Analytics. All degrees are delivered 100% online asynchronously. All communication with students and faculty is conducted 100% online. Brief Description of Duties Faculty teach in their areas of specialty. Each faculty member is responsible for preparing curriculum, syllabus and ensuring accessibility compliance; grading assignments; holding office hours; providing texts and readings; supporting student learning; participating in professional development; and collaborating with faculty and staff to promote student success. All faculty support accreditation maintenance activities and prepare necessary documentation. Faculty must deliver recorded instructional content (video or audio) each week or module, including introductions, announcements, regular updates, responses to assignments or discussions, and short lectures. All classes must be organized within the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) and accessed by students through Canvas. Faculty demonstrate awareness of and address the needs of a diverse student population across age, abilities, cultural background, ethnicity, religion, economic background, primary language, sexual orientation, gender identity, and academic preparation through inclusive materials, teaching strategies, and advisement. Required Qualifications Earned master’s degree. Professional or academic work experience. Awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural population, as evidenced by cross‑cultural study, training, teaching or comparable experience. Preferred Qualifications Online teaching experience. Compensation Anticipated monthly salary ranges for full‑time faculty: L‑A / Range 2 – $5,507 – $5,959 L‑B / Range 3 – $6,221 – $7,481 L‑C / Range 4 – $6,825 – $9,431 L‑D / Range 5 – $8,593 – $10,347 Full‑time annual salary equals the monthly rate multiplied by 12. Part‑time rates are prorated. Employment Conditions Faculty employees must complete CSU employee training (discrimination prevention, gender equity and Title IX, health and safety). Faculty may be designated as Campus Security Authorities and must comply with Clery Act training and reporting requirements. Conditional Offer Employment is contingent upon U.S. residence and eligibility to work in the United States. Background checks may result in rescission of offers.
