Job Description:  Orientation   Coordinator

Location: 3940 West 73rd Street, Anderson, IN

Department: Safety     Job Status: Full-Time     Reports to:  Director of Safety

POSITION SUMMARY

Ensure that new driver orientation class at Carter LOGISTEED Express are fully staffed with competent presenters and the curriculum used is current and being presented in a professional manner at all times. This position will manage the Mentee program and ensure the program is developing drivers up to Carter LOGISTEED’s standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Supervise, train, and monitor the performance of all assigned orientation employees.
2. Teach any of the orientation classes as needed.
3. Keep orientation information always updated.
4. Ensure proper inventory levels of supplies.
5. Coordinate driver rides to and from orientation/hotel.
6. Prepare driver qualification files/Create driver profile in TMW for new hires.
7. Complete 2nd attempt at employment verifications.
8. Drug and alcohol collections

EDUCATION:

Post-secondary education or High School Diploma or GED with 1-2 years industry experience.

EXPERIENCE/JOB SKILL REQUIREMENTS: 

1. Good organizational skills.
2. General motor carrier knowledge.
3. Good communication skills.
4. Public speaking skills.
5. Knowledge of all company polices and guidelines.
6. Good at dealing with people.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Supervises Orientation attendees and Driver Mentors.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Proficiency in Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook email required. Must have the ability to learn new programs as necessary.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: 

Solid work history and willingness to successfully function in a team environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

This is an office position within our crossdock facility. You will need to follow all correct and proper PPE requirements set for entering the dock area. Such as but not limited to, wearing a reflective vest, shirt, or jacket, and steel toe shoes or shoe coverings.
