Part Time Associate Veterinarian - North Cobb Animal Hospital

Position Overview Join our team as a Part‑Time Veterinarian with predictable hours and a consistent home hospital assignment. You'll work alongside a locally led care team that is supported by national resources. This role allows you to remain clinically engaged while maintaining a balanced and sustainable pace of work. North Cobb Animal Hospital in Kennesaw, GA is a full‑service small animal practice featuring four exam rooms, a dedicated surgical suite, and modern technology. The hospital serves the local community with compassionate, high‑quality veterinary care. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups. Communicate and educate clients. Conduct diagnostic procedures and surgery. Maintain accurate medical records. Prescribe medications and follow controlled substance protocols. Promote teamwork and staff efficiency. Collaborate with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations. Evaluate and monitor protocols for daily hospital operations from intake to discharge. Attend daily rounds when possible to ensure high standards are upheld. Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels. Perform other duties as assigned by Management. Qualifications (Required) Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university. Current State Veterinary License. DEA registration obtained and maintained. 1+ years of experience in a veterinary practice. Strong diagnostic and clinical skills. Excellent surgical and dental skills. Ability to work well in a team‑oriented environment. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Commitment to providing compassionate and high‑quality veterinary care. Effective communication with Medical and Hospital staff. Client communication skills to elicit information, establish rapport, and offer explanations. Confidence and reassurance when handling stressed, ill, or painful pets. Capability to perform climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as needed. Ability to perform moderately physically demanding tasks. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) Demonstrate clinical knowledge and skill in comprehensive animal evaluations. Ability to develop solutions for high‑quality veterinary hospital management. Effective communication of diagnostic and therapeutic options to clients and staff. Professionalism with constructive feedback and high‑quality teamwork. Business acumen related to hospital practice finances. Knowledge of ethical principles guiding patient decisions. Commitment to continuing education and supporting others’ learning.
