Job Summary
The GEAR UP Manager oversees the GEAR UP Wyoming grant at LCCC. It is responsible for overseeing and leading site staff, objectives, budget, processes, data, activities, programs, and overall success of the grant in accordance with the national and state specific Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) grant policies. This position is grant-funded; specific parameters associated with the grant may impact the start/stop of any employment relationship as well as compensation. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the grant parameters of this position, please contact the GEAR UP Wyoming Grant Manager.
Principal Responsibilities and Results, KSA's ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - this position is exempt and is not eligible for compensatory or overtime pay provisions of the FLSA.

Program Oversight & Implementation - Ensure effective oversight and implementation for the GEAR UP by managing program activities, coordinating with partners, monitoring compliance, and ensuring timely delivery of services to eligible students.

Program Oversight & Implementation - Ensure effective oversight and implementation for the GEAR UP by managing program activities, coordinating with partners, monitoring compliance, and ensuring timely delivery of services to eligible students.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the GEAR UP program.
- Ensure the program's goals and objectives are being met, aligning with federal, state, and institutional policies.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance student readiness for college.
- Administer the GEAR UP budget in compliance with federal, state, and institutional guidelines.
- Prepare and submit financial and progress reports for grantors.
- Monitor expenditures and ensure funds are used effectively and appropriately, in compliance with grant guidelines.
- Organize workflows, setting clear goals
- Promote effective communication
- Provide leadership and direction to ensure successful program activities
- Foster a collaborative team environment.
- Provide resources and support for families, addressing barriers to post-secondary education.
- Collaborate with partners to offer additional resources and services to students and families.
- Build and maintain relationships with school districts, community organizations and other stakeholders.
- Ensure ongoing training for staff to stay current with best practices in college readiness.
- Attend conferences, workshops, and meetings to enhance program knowledge.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge
- Advanced working knowledge and experience in business, supervision, and management
- Knowledge of the functions, operation and mission of federal grants (i.e. GEAR UP)
- Knowledge of curriculum and workshop development.
- General knowledge of various employment laws and practices and employee relations.
- Knowledge of college enrollment process (including financial aid resources and processes)
- Experience working in education, academic counseling, or a related field to include experience working with adolescents and families.
- Advanced written, spoken communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills.
- Enhanced computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment technology skills with word processing, database and spreadsheet applications, presentation packages, internet, and e-mail; Must include knowledge of Excel
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiently utilizing computer and technology skills with word processing, database and spreadsheet applications, presentation packages, internet, and e-mail.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a department and staff members
- Ability to perform accounting practices

- While performing the essential duties of this position, an employee would frequently be required to move around the assigned work areas as well as within hallways, meeting rooms, and other parts of the campus facilities
- There may be multiple/daily instances of prolonged sitting, standing, and personal computer use, which would include keyboard and/or mouse usage as well as viewing a computer monitor
- An employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
- The overall work environment requires the mental ability to shift focal point quickly due to interruptions; an employee must be able to mentally track multiple projects and tasking as well
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Two years of experience working with grant projects and budgets.
- Two years of experience working in education, academic counseling, or related field; to include experience working with adolescents and families.
- Valid Driver's License and ability to be insured by the College's insurance provider.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a closely related field of study.
- Two years of experience working with grant projects, public school personnel, and providing college readiness and/or preparedness support.
- Three years of experience working with/supporting individuals from low-income populations in overcoming barriers and achieving goals and/or personal experience.
- Three years of experience with program development, supporting curriculum development, and utilizing effective management and organization skills.
