Bilingual Medical ReceptionistFamily First Health is seeking a Bilingual Medical Receptionist for our Lebanon location.This is a designated bilingual position, a qualified candidate should possess the ability to read, write, speak, and understand both English and Spanish/other language sufficiently to perform the essential functions of the position, including communicating directly with patients, accurately completing required documentation, and providing services in both languages without routine reliance on interpreter services to meet an operational need for patients and staff.Family First Health is a federally qualified health center (FQHC) that is accessible and community minded. Family First Health Center makes a difference in the health and quality of life of the people and communities we serve by:providing quality, compassionate primary medical and dental care and social services to those who need it most;coordinating care and working with other providers to provide the full range of services our patients need;promoting and supporting healthy lifestyles;collaborating with others to improve access and break down the barriers of affordability, language and culture; andadvocating for our patients and the medically underserved.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESGreets and registers patients collecting, within athenahealth, accurate demographic, insurance information, and first time Self Declare for the reduced fee program in accordance with established policies and procedures.Maintains confidentiality of medical information and assists patients by delivering excellent customer service while ensuring problem resolution.Reviews and prints provider schedules for the following day.Prepares for next day appointments by reviewing and arranging documents for the following: patient demographics, insurance information, necessary forms and performs pre-visit eligibility tasks.Schedules patient appointments within established scheduling guidelines.Staffs the front desk and works with other staff to ensure full coverage of all responsibilities.Answers telephones, routes callers, takes messages, and provides routine information to callers.Performs various tasks related to end of day and reconciliation of cash drawers.Maximizes collections at time of service to patients.Researches billing related questions and problems for patients, with assistance of the billing department.Demonstrates a working knowledge of health insurances and payer types.Processes and classifies documents in the clinical inbox in athenahealth.Schedules and reschedules appointments in the workflow dashboard in athenahealth, following established scheduling guidelines.Collects, sorts, and distributes mail for the offices.Processes forms and documents received from patients within a timely manner.Follows release of information process, preparing paper charts for HealthPort representatives as needed.Complies with all HIPAA rules and regulations.Documents patient complaints and incidents as necessary.Attends and actively participates in departmental/organizational meetings as required.Performs all other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIESHigh School Diploma or GED, or any equivalent combination of training and experienceKnowledge of computer software applications (Microsoft Office Applications, others)Ability to communicate fluently in both English and Spanish/other language, verbally and in writing, to perform the essential functions of the position, including communicating with patients, providers, and staff; accurately documenting information in the electronic health record; and interpreting written and verbal communications in both languagesKnowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation as it relates to correspondence necessary to perform essential job functionsKnowledge of basic arithmetic to make calculations, balance and reconcile figures, and make changes accuratelyExcellent customer service skillsAbility to critically think which means the ability to think clearly and rationally about what to do or what to believe; understand logical connections between ideas; and identify, construct, and evaluate argumentsAbility to set positive examples for team members through exceptional work performance including adherence to company policies and processesSkill in operating office equipmentAbility to work in, and respond to demanding environmentAbility to communicate well and in a caring and supportive manner with individuals of all backgrounds.Ability to work efficiently and accurately with strong attention to detailAbility to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric systemsAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the publicAbility to be organized, proactive in follow-up and follow-through, and to juggle multiple competing tasksAbility to adhere to all Family First Health's policies, processes, and procedures, especially, Code of Conduct, Workplace Conduct, and the Remote/Telework Policy if indicated eligible to work remotely or telework.Ability to articulate and advocate Family First Health's mission and valuesAbility to maintain required clearancesEmployee Benefits3 Weeks of Accrued Paid Vacation accrued per year9 Days Accrued Paid Sick Leave Time accrued per year4 Personal Days provided per calendar yearNo Late Evenings or Weekend HoursPaid Time Off on HolidaysHealth, Dental, & Vision Insurance PlansShort/Long Term Disability and Life Insurance403(b) Retirement PlanTuition Reimbursement OpportunitiesAttention to work-life balanceOpportunity for growth and advancementAnd More!
