The Senior Financial Analyst, Supply Chain Finance - Manufacturing will provide analytical and financial support to the Co-Manufacturing organization. This role will develop the reporting, models, and insights needed to understand product cost drivers and improve manufacturing performance across Kinder's external production network.

Working closely with Co-Manufacturing, Supply Chain Finance, Operations, and Accounting, this analyst will evaluate conversion costs, yield, scrap, labor, overhead, capacity, and productivity. The role will investigate variances, maintain accurate forecasts, and turn detailed operating data into clear business implications and recommended actions.

This position is well suited for a highly analytical self-starter who enjoys working with large and imperfect data sets, solving ambiguous problems, and building repeatable tools in a growing organization.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Manufacturing Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare monthly and weekly reporting for co-manufacturing costs and operational performance, including cost per unit, conversion cost, yield, scrap, labor, overhead, capacity utilization, and plant efficiency.
• Analyze actual results versus budget, forecast, standard, and prior periods; identify root causes, quantify financial impacts, and communicate conclusions clearly.
• Build and maintain dashboards and reporting that connect manufacturing KPIs to COGS, gross margin, EBITDA, inventory, and cash flow.
• Reconcile operational, supplier, ERP, and financial data and resolve data quality issues with business partners.
• Support period-end close through accrual analysis, co-manufacturing cost validation, true-ups, and review of unusual transactions.
• Develop ad hoc analyses in response to business questions and deliver accurate, decision-focused outputs under tight timelines.

Planning, Costing & Decision Support

• Support the annual budget, rolling forecast, and long-range planning processes for co-manufacturing costs and related operational drivers.
• Maintain forecast models for conversion costs, productivity, yield, labor, overhead, capacity, and other manufacturing assumptions.
• Develop and maintain should-cost models for co-manufacturing toll estimates, supplier negotiations, and cost validation.
• Quantify manufacturing productivity and cost-reduction initiatives, track performance against commitments, and validate realized savings.
• Support business cases for capacity investments, make-versus-buy decisions, network changes, capital expenditures, and co-manufacturing alternatives.
• Provide financial support for new product introductions, reformulations, pack changes, and manufacturing transitions.

Business Partnership & Process Improvement

• Partner with Co-Manufacturing, Operations, Accounting, Procurement, R&D, and Finance to understand cost drivers and improve financial outcomes.
• Translate detailed manufacturing results into concise insights and recommendations for finance and non-finance audiences.
• Build repeatable models, reporting tools, and documentation that improve the accuracy, speed, and scalability of Manufacturing Finance processes.
• Identify control gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities to improve cost visibility; propose and implement practical solutions.
• Manage multiple priorities independently, escalate material issues promptly, and follow analyses through to resolution.

Skills & Experience: 

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
• 3+ years of progressive finance, accounting, analytics, manufacturing finance, operations finance, or FP&A experience.
• Strong understanding of COGS, standard costing, variance analysis, gross margin, inventory, and manufacturing cost drivers.
• Experience analyzing productivity, yield, scrap, labor, overhead, conversion costs, or capacity is strongly preferred.
• Experience in Consumer Packaged Goods, food, manufacturing, retail, or another inventory-intensive business is preferred.
• Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills, including the ability to organize and analyze large data sets and build scalable financial models.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail, data integrity, and reconciliation.
• Ability to communicate complex analysis clearly and tailor conclusions for finance and non-finance audiences.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage competing deadlines, and make progress when processes or data are still evolving.
• Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker is a plus.
• Experience with ERP and planning systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Anaplan, or comparable platforms is a plus.

Location and Travel:

The position will be based onsite in Walnut Creek, CA. We strongly believe in the power of culture and community and have a hybrid work structure with 4 days in the office on a weekly basis to encourage collaboration and personal connections that will allow us to better serve our customers and consumer and to have more fun. Fridays are flex days with employees having the opportunity to choose to be either in the office or to work from home based on what makes most sense for them.

Pay Transparency:

The expected starting salary range for this role is $115,000- $125,000 per year. The salary range posted for this role reflects the good-faith base pay range Kinder's reasonably expects to offer at the time of posting and may vary based on the location of the role. Individual compensation within the posted range will be determined based on factors such as relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, and business needs.
