Speech Language Pathologist, Per Diem

Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist Reports to: Rehabilitation Director General Purpose Provides quality resident care to enable the resident to achieve and maintain the maximum level of functional ability while maintaining positive level of interaction with facility and resident. Qualifications Graduate of accredited SLP school, has CCC and eligible for licensure. Essential Job Responsibilities Work with the RD to evaluate, develop, organize, and implement resident care programs using selected ST procedures in individual and group sessions. Manage caseload, identifying residents through screening and scheduling treatment individually or in groups while maintaining productivity expectations. Instruct resident, family, and caregivers in ST to continue upon discharge. Adhere to PPS guidelines, ensuring all ST documentation/treatment conforms to documentation/billing policies and procedures. Work with RD to provide oversight and direction of techs and assist in the supervision and education of affiliating students. Assist in assuring that the physical surroundings and equipment are sanitary, orderly, and free from conditions that may cause safety hazards. Comply with ethical, regulatory, procedural and professional standards and practice guidelines. Residents’ Rights Functions Maintain resident confidentiality and privacy, fostering feelings of self‑worth and respect by treating residents with kindness and understanding. Know and comply with Residents’ Bill of Rights, reporting all grievances and resident complaints to administrator and/or Director of Nursing immediately. Report any incident involving rehab staff to RVP immediately. Physical Requirements Good physical and mental health. Some lifting, fine hand‑eye coordination, and good hearing acuity are involved. Visual and hearing acuity to detect changes in residents’ conditions and respond to pages. Ability to communicate with residents, families, staff, co‑workers, medical personnel, regulatory agencies and consultants. Other Job Functions Maintain own professional competence and learn new creative trends in ST treatment through participation in continuing education, seminars and training programs.
