JOB SUMMARY

The position serves a critical management leadership role, responsible for assisting the Dog Boarding Operations Manager with the day-to-day activities of Sol Dog Lodge and Training Center. This includes ensuring the highest standards of care for our canine guests, training and developing staff and volunteers, and maintaining operational excellence.

In this hands-on leadership position, you will manage daily dog care routines, oversee team performance, and support an enriching and safe environment for dogs and staff alike. You will work closely with the Operations Manager to implement dog boarding enrichment programs, ensure consistent care protocols, and foster a positive and collaborative team culture. Flexibility is essential, as shifts may include days, evenings, an/or overnight responsibilities to support our 24/7 care model.

The schedule for this position can vary. We are open 7 days a week, and the Dog Care Specialist Lead position generally works between the hours of 06:00 am and 12:00 am (midnight). The anticipated schedule for this position through the remainder of 2026 is 40 hours per week with the shifts listed below:

 

Sunday: 02:00pm - 12:00 am (midnight) - 10 hours

Monday: 02:00pm - 12:00 am (midnight) - 10 hours

Tuesday: 02:00pm - 12:00 am (midnight) - 10 hours

Wednesday: 02:00pm - 12:00 am (midnight) - 10 hours

Thursday: OFF

Friday: OFF

Saturday: OFF

 

*The listed schedule is intended to be transparent about the current vacancy, however, we are seeking a qualified candidate who can be flexible and help us staff the facility to provide the best care we possibly can for the dogs in our care. We do have a dedicated overnight staff, however, Dog Care Specialist Leads may occasionally be asked to cover overnight shifts when the need arises.
