Marketing & Sales Coordinator

The Marketing & Sales Coordinator will support the Redlands Symphony’s audience development and public awareness campaigns through marketing and sales-related support. The Marketing & Sales Coordinator will be responsible for the execution of marketing and sales plans in partnership with the Executive Director and other internal staff. The Marketing & Sales Coordinator will be held accountable for metrics and will be supported by internal processes to help meet goals and increase concert attendance and public awareness. THIS ROLE IS ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE FOLLOWING: Developing a sales and marketing plan to support paid concert attendance growth in collaboration with the Executive Director; Implementing the sales and marketing plan to support paid concert attendance growth; Creating print and digital advertising in collaboration with the Executive Director and third-party vendors; Managing the release and distribution schedule of press releases, printed mass media materials (e.g., brochures, invitations, direct mail pieces, etc), digital content (e.g., email campaigns), and other materials as required per campaign; Managing the social media calendar and content, including creating native content both with and without external vendor assistance at concerts and events as well as other video and graphic content for social distribution as necessary; Support fundraising events with print and digital communications as directed by the Executive Director and event volunteers, including supporting growth in fundraising event registrations and sales; Representing the Redlands Symphony, as needed, at community events (e.g., Farmer’s Markets, Chamber of Commerce mixers, Redlands Bowl, etc) All administrative staff members of the Redlands Symphony Association participate in the following concert/event specific duties in varying levels of accountability and support: Basic box office functions include ticket sales, subscription sales and renewals, and other product sales Concert night front of house operations including but not limited to box office operations, will call ticketing, accessibility services support, pre- and post-concert activity management, usher training, and volunteer management Logistics support including people flow support, event setup and teardown, technology setup and teardown The above is not an exhaustive list of concert duties as some duties may change to suit a given program, venue, artist, or other consideration . SUPERVISORY CAPACITY: This position does not directly supervise administrative staff. This position shares responsibility for management of volunteers as needed. TRAITS FOR SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE Not every candidate will have every desirable trait, but some combination of the following will help the person in this role succeed: Interest in, appreciation of, and or experience with performing arts, especially classical music; A willingness to be curious about orchestral music and its many different facets; Knowledge of and/or experience with marketing, public relations, and/or advertising; Knowledge of and/or experience with creative ideation, asset creation, and/or commercial printing Strong sense for storytelling and case making, particularly in the area of non-profit and/or arts and culture; Comfortability with various design programs (e.g., InDesign, Photoshop, Canva, etc) Experience with social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok; Experience, knowledge, and/or ideation around sales in various capacities; Comfortability working with the public, particularly in high-volume and high-stress situations Adaptability and comfortability with change; Understanding of and comfortability with budgets; Understanding of and comfortability with trends in marketing for the arts, particularly digitally Understanding of and comfortability with a collaborative environment, including assisting with functions outside your required task for event management (e.g., concerts) where appropriate CONDITIONS & TIME REQUIREMENTS This position requires sitting, walking, standing, climbing stairs, hearing, speaking, using technology, being able to lift up to 25 lb., and working from various locations pertaining to organizational operations. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States if requested. This position is a full-time position, with flexibility for the employee to work 35-40 hours per week with arrangement and agreement of the internal staff. For concerts and events, which typically occur evenings and weekends at various times throughout the year, flex time during the work week is offered. #J-18808-Ljbffr
