Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse to join the Obstetrics team at Community Hospital of Anaconda, located in Anaconda, Montana. This role provides comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population, including antepartum, laboring, and postpartum mothers, as well as newborns.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing patient care across the full spectrum of obstetric services, ensuring high-quality, compassionate care during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. This position primarily involves night shifts with a commitment to call rotations, contributing to a dynamic and essential healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to antepartum, laboring, and postpartum patients, including monitoring and assessment.
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs, interpreting data to ensure patient safety and well-being.
• Assist physicians during labor, vaginal deliveries, and C-sections, including pre-operative and post-operative care.
• Educate new mothers on infant care, breastfeeding techniques, and postpartum recovery.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accurate dosage and documentation.
• Respond effectively to obstetric emergencies, demonstrating critical thinking and rapid intervention skills.
• Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of recent, acute care experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and general Obstetrics.
• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.

Shift Details

• Assignment Dates: Starting October 12, 2026, for a 13-week contract.
• Shift Type: Night shifts (NOC), 12-hour duration.
• Weekly Hours: Primarily 36 hours per week (3 shifts), with potential for up to 48 hours (4 shifts) if mutually agreed upon between the nurse and OB Manager.
• Call Requirements: Approximately 6-8 call shifts per 6-week schedule.
• Weekend Rotation: No guaranteed consistent weekends off.
• Scheduling: No guaranteed block scheduling. Occasional day coverage may be required based on departmental needs.

Licensing Requirements

• Current Montana (MT) Registered Nurse (RN) license or a qualifying compact state license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• Intermediate AWHONN Fetal Heart Monitoring certification.
