Sr Financial Analyst

SUMMARY Under general direction, organizes day‑to‑day activities necessary to prepare the budgeting and financial analyses for Rhode Island Hospital. Assist clinical leaders in monthly financial analysis and variance reporting. The core Success Factors include: Instill Trust and Value Differences Patient and Community Focus and Collaborate RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in the development and implementation of Brown University Health and affiliates annual operating budget and capital budget programs. Compile short and long‑range financial analysis/projections for administration and clinical leaders. Analyze financial and statistical data used in financial operations. Compile and reconcile monthly actual‑to‑budget variance performance metrics. Participate in staff meetings and act as a department liaison with clinical leaders. Assess financial and statistical variances and correlate solutions as appropriate. Perform other related duties as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: BS/BA or equivalent in Accounting or Finance. Experience: Three to five years of progressively more responsible experience in a complex, automated environment, healthcare multi‑corporation environment focusing on financial system operations and services. Interpersonal skills necessary to interface effectively with all levels of employees in discussions and explanations of complex information and to gain cooperation with individuals and groups while effecting timely progress towards goals. Comprehensive knowledge of accounting and financial reporting requirements, as well as an understanding of the impact that accounting practices have on budgeting, reimbursement, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable and other key finance functions. Comprehensive knowledge of various financial software such as Microsoft Office and related products.
