Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on automation and auxiliary equipment, including inspection, lubrication, adjustments, and functional testing.

• Diagnose mechanical issues and replace or repair faulty mechanical components to restore equipment to proper working condition.

• Conduct regular equipment inspections to proactively identify and resolve potential issues before equipment failure occurs.

• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and parts used.

• Work collaboratively with technicians, operators, and other departments to ensure smooth operation of equipment and address maintenance-related concerns.

• Follow all safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies while performing maintenance work.

• Utilize maintenance tracking systems or ERP software to record work performed and support equipment history and planning.

• Support molding and automation operations by responding to maintenance requests and prioritizing tasks based on production needs.

• Assist with troubleshooting and supporting robotic systems, PLCs, HMIs, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components as needed.

• Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• 1-2 years of related experience in equipment maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or automation environment.

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in the use of hand tools.

• Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components.

• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.

• Basic knowledge of electrical systems and PLCs.

• Previous experience with automation systems or auxiliary manufacturing equipment.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation.

• Experience working with or around robotic systems and automation equipment.

• Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

• Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, and control systems in an industrial setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with maintenance tracking systems or ERP software; experience with IQMS is a plus but not required.

• Experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing or molding environment.

• Exposure to PLC programming and troubleshooting of control systems.

• Comfort working with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components in automated machinery.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a production environment.

This is a Permanent position based out of Gurnee, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
