Registered Dental Hygienist – Temporary Position (Mondays Only)

East Highlands Dentistry is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist to cover a maternity leave, working Mondays only from October 27, 2024 through February 2026. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care in a supportive, private PPO dental office. The ideal candidate will be proficient in dental hygiene practices, patient communication, and record management within a fast-paced clinical environment.

Requirements

• Dentrix
• Eaglesoft
• Infection Control License
• Licensed dental hygienist

Valid state license to practice as a Registered Dental Hygienist.
Experience working in a dental office or clinical environment.
Proficiency in electronic medical record systems (Eaglesoft, Dentrix).
Solid understanding of dental hygiene techniques, including four-handed dentistry.
Knowledge of anatomy, medical coding, infection control, and HIPAA regulations.
Ability to work effectively with pediatric patients.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on patient comfort and care.
Meticulous in record-keeping and documentation review.

Job Description

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs and review of medical histories.
Perform dental cleanings, scaling, polishing, and preventive procedures following aseptic and infection control protocols.
Assist dentists chairside during dental treatments.
Use dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for accurate patient documentation and electronic health record management.
Educate patients on oral hygiene and the importance of regular dental visits.
Collaborate with the dental team to develop personalized care plans.
Maintain and manage medical imaging records, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
Apply knowledge of pediatric dentistry and dental terminology in daily practice.

Work schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with 1-hour lunch break
