The Firm’s groundbreaking approach—bringing together legal services, advocacy and business strategy—differentiates Manatt from its competitors and positions the Firm to provide a unique and compelling value proposition.The OpportunityThe Pricing and Matter Analytics Sr. Manager will oversee the various administrative phases of the firm’s engagements, including budgeting, pricing, monitoring actuals against budget, and ensuring data integrity in our financial systems. This role will work closely with firm management to develop pricing strategy and processes for the firm and work with Practice Management Directors to ensure firm engagements are properly reviewed and monitored to ensure they meet the firm’s profitability goals.ResponsibilitiesWork with the Sr. Director of Business Analytics to research pricing trends and develop pricing strategies and procedures for the firm, with a particular focus on the impact of Artificial Intelligence on legal and consulting work.Manage the Pricing Team, including one Pricing Analyst, in the daily pricing operations of the firm.Utilize historical firm data to create budget templates for specific types of legal and consulting work.Research industry trends in both the legal and consulting industries and utilize peer and industry data to modify pricing processes.Support partners and business professionals across the firm by developing profitable, sustainable and relevant pricing solutions.Provide consistent and proactive analysis on client financials to optimize profitability and predictability on matter results.Work with key stakeholders, to support the development of strategic pricing solutions in response to client RFPs.Assess budgets on a routine basis to ensure efforts remain on track and identify solutions when off track.Facilitate a partnership with the client arrangements team to ensure accurate data in financial systems for key engagements and update any changes to engagement details promptly.Formulate analysis of appropriate billing information to guide Billing Partners in developing fee arrangement proposals.Create and Maintain monthly reporting on client matter level metrics.Collaborate with the business development team and other administrative units on reporting needs, including ad hoc reporting related to the firm’s engagementsAssist the Financial Analysis team on presentations and forecasts with information on the firm’s key engagements.Assist in the development of client/matter dashboards and reporting, ensuring data governance and integrity across all systems and platforms.QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or related field required. MBA a plusMinimum of 5 years of legal pricing experienceAdvanced Excel skillsProficient in Microsoft Office SuiteProfessional Services Firm and Aderant experience a plusExceptional interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication with proven ability to work effectively with end users, peers and managersExcellent analytical skillsAbility to organize and prioritize multiple projects effectivelySelf-motivated and able to work successfully with minimal supervisionThe base annual pay range for this role is between $160,000 - $190,000. The base pay to be offered will vary and depend on skills and qualifications, experience, location and will also take into account internal equity.
