Controller / CFO In Training

This is a new position which will report to the Chief Financial Officer. The Controller will be hands-on working and overseeing a variety of areas, including; Payroll, Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Budgeting, Financial Reporting, Annual Audits, Fixed Assets, Information Systems, 401k Administration, Medicare/caid Cost Reporting, Sales Tax, IRS form 990, IRS form 5500, etc.

This is a full-time, exempt position. Office hours are Monday - Friday

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Experience with monthly financial close and reporting (both internal and external)

• Experience with coordination of external audits

• Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements

• Knowledgeable with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

• Experience with budgeting process, forecasting and planning

• Experience with payroll processing, tax reporting, wage and hour laws, and related software applications

• 401k plan experience (administration, audits, ERISA rules, etc.)

• Healthcare-related experience with reimbursement, billing, cost reports, etc. preferred

• Accounts Payable processing and 1099 reporting experience

• Knowledge of bond financing, reporting and compliance

• Advanced proficiency with MS Word and Excel

• Demonstrated success in providing leadership and supervision of staff and projects

• Effective written and oral communication skills

• Ability to meet deadlines and make timely decisions

• Effective in problem solving, and attention for details

• Ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical audiences

• Able to handle sensitive and confidential information

• Able to work effectively with all levels of management, staff and employees

Education & Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

• CPA license preferred

• Minimum 5 years work related experience

• Previous public accounting experience is highly valued
