RESIDENTIAL SERVICES SPECIALIST - **Crossroads II**

Work Schedule is Tuesday‑Saturday 2:30 pm–11:30 pm. Pay Rates Union positions are set in the Collective Bargaining Agreement with SEIU Local 521. Each position has a total of six steps. Step 1 (entry level) through Step 6 (15 years of employment). Union staff are promoted from Step 1 to Step 2 upon their one‑year anniversary. Current Step 1 rate: $35.49  /hr. Current Step 6 rate: $39.19  /hr. Shift Differentials 6.25 % additional pay for overnight (NOC) shift from 11 pm to 7 am. 4.75 % additional pay for evening shift from 5:30 pm to 10:59 pm. 4.75 % additional pay for weekend shifts from 12:01 am on Saturday thru 11:59 pm on Sunday. Benefits Competitive package for 30‑40‑hour week positions. Defined contribution up to $15,433.08 per year (prorated for part‑time workers). Principal Duties and Responsibilities Provide milieu and/or mental health, rehabilitation, and case management services for clients in residence. Develop and/or implement individual service and treatment plans. Facilitate psychiatric (“psych”) consultations and group sessions. Provide medical follow‑up assistance, coordinated care with primary physicians, and assistance with medical issues, schedules, and transportation. Assist clients in accessing and managing insurance benefits, including determining coverage status and enabling routine office visits. Coordinate care with other programs and contact case managers if clients show changes in behavior or need referrals. Liaise with outside agencies, help clients research independent‑living resources, facilitate housing placement interviews, and educate families on mental health issues. Interface directly with clients and provide counseling, conflict resolution, and crisis intervention. Assist clients with budgeting, health and safety education, medication education, and promote self‑empowerment. Participate in management of team/program discretionary resources. Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation, including admissions, discharge summaries, case notes, and treatment plans. Process admissions, discharge paperwork, and case conferences. Oversee medication issuance and inventory, transcribe orders, and ensure monthly medication sheets are completed. Perform general office work, including electronic and telephonic communications and processing of timecards. Provide transportation in personal or agency vehicles as needed. Provide on‑call and floor coverage; participate in after‑hours rotations and shift exchange debriefings; provide consultation and back‑up for client crises. Perform First Aid in emergency situations. Other Duties and Responsibilities Collect reports and data; send daily census reports to Central Intake. Audit and review documents; complete monthly medical record reviews. Attend staff, program, agency, and community meetings and training; conduct trainings as needed. Ensure compliance with health and safety and other regulatory requirements. Maintain program facilities in a clean and well‑kept condition. Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements Education and experience (High School diploma, GED, or equivalent) plus 5 years related experience; or Associate’s degree plus 3 years; or Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years; or Master’s degree plus 1 year (Essential). Experience working in human services, residential mental health, and with emotionally disturbed individuals (Essential). Relevant certifications (MHRS), and other desired qualifications (Desired). Ability to work independently and in a small team; effective communication in English; bilingual skills in some cases (Essential). Skill in crisis management, conflict resolution, multitasking, good judgment, and working from a strengths‑based model (Essential). Knowledge of mental health clinical techniques, community resources, MHSA, and WRAP (Essential/Desired). First Aid Certification or completion within 30 days of hire (Essential). Continuing education credits and recertification – minimum 20 hours annually (Essential). Typing speed 30 net wpm (Essential) or 40 net wpm (Desired); computer literacy, MS Office proficiency (Essential); familiarity with UNIX‑based databases (Desired). Meet government and regulatory standards for criminal background clearance (Essential). Valid California driver license with reliable vehicle or company vehicle use and clean DMV record (Essential).
