Phlebotomist

Job Overview Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team in North Chicago, IL. Work schedule: Monday - Thursday 4:00pm-8:00pm, rotating Friday/Saturday 8:00am-4:30pm. Job Responsibilities Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups. Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc. Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely. Process billing information and collect payments as necessary. Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis. Maintain patient and specimen information logs. Provide superior customer service to all patients. Administrative and clerical duties as necessary. Travel to additional sites when needed. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED or equivalent. Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist. Preferred Qualifications 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience with patients of all ages. Additional Job Standards Phlebotomy certification or training program must come from an accredited agency. Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently or in a team environment. Comfortable working under minimal supervision. Reliable transportation. Flexibility to work overtime as needed. Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test. Pay Range Pay Range: $17.75 - $24.50 per hour. Eligible for 2nd Shift differential. Benefits Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees scheduled less than 20 hours per week are eligible to participate only in the 401(k) plan. Employees on a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible for all benefits except PTO or FTO. Phlebotomist’s may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, paying a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.
