Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | 2 weekends required per 4-week schedule

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 49-bed Cardiac/Medical Telemetry unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Interpret and sign telemetry strips at least once per shift; work alongside monitor technicians
• Care for patients with diagnoses including CHF, respiratory conditions, GI disorders, diabetes, CVA/TIA, post-cardiac catheterization, and total joint replacement
• Manage set-rate drips including Diltiazem/Cardizem; titration of drips is not required
• Operate and monitor respiratory equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, and administer breathing treatments
• Float to alternate campus locations and PCU (if qualified) as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Ability to read and interpret basic telemetry strips
• Must successfully pass a dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to assignment start
• Availability to work 2 holiday shifts across Christmas, New Year's, and Thanksgiving periods as required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Cerner EMR strongly recommended due to limited unit orientation (1 shift)
• Prior experience with CVA/TIA patient populations
• Total joint replacement nursing experience
