IT Tech (Contract Role)


Location: Waukegan, IL (Onsite)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
Pay Range: $28-$30/hr
Type: Full-Time Contract (Open-Ended)

An established organization in the food production and distribution industry is seeking a skilled and dependable IT Technician to join their onsite technology team. This role focuses on supporting day-to-day IT operations, resolving technical issues, deploying hardware, and ensuring efficient support for internal users across the company. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, resourceful, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor, triage, and resolve system and user-reported IT issues.
• Troubleshoot hardware including laptops, desktops, printers, and handheld/scanning devices.
• Procure, configure, and deploy new computer hardware and IT equipment.
• Manage IT support tickets through internal ticketing systems and coordinate with managed service providers as needed.
• Maintain and assign software licenses.
• Provide end-user support and guidance on computer functionality, software usage, and system features.
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Support general IT operations and assist with additional technology projects as assigned.
• Handle approximately 50% hardware deployment-focused tasks .

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of Tier 1 IT support experience in a professional setting.
• Strong proficiency with Windows operating systems , Windows applications, and Microsoft 365 administration .
• Experience troubleshooting hardware and working with standard business IT equipment.
• Ability to learn quickly and operate with limited formal training.
• Strong task management and troubleshooting skills.
