Responsibilities Safely operate a box truck, including manual transmission vehicles, on local and over-the-road (OTR) routes while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load and unload freight with proper manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured according to logistics cargo handling protocols. Navigate using GPS systems to follow optimized delivery routes, adjusting plans as needed for traffic or road conditions. Deliver freight efficiently to various destinations, including refrigerated trailers or specialized equipment such as flatbeds or tankers when required. Handle hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods following hazardous materials regulations and safety procedures. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports in compliance with DOT regulations. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety standards are met; report any maintenance issues promptly. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving, delivery driving, or route driving with a focus on freight transportation. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tankers, or tractor-trailers is preferred. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and DOT compliance requirements. Demonstrated ability to load & unload cargo safely using manual handling techniques. Experience with GPS navigation systems and route planning for efficient deliveries. Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle operated; experience with manual transmissions is a plus.
