Registered Nurse – Wound Care Location: Melbourne, Florida
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Start Date: July 6, 2026
Shift: Days, 5x8s (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday)

Float: Required across all 4 Health First hospitals for wound consult coverage

Key Requirements

• Active Florida RN License or Compact License (required at submission)
• WCC certification required
• WOCN certification preferred
• BLS certification
• Minimum 1 year of wound care experience
• Epic experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Official wound care RN experience must be documented in work history

Clinical Skills Required

• Wound assessment and management
• Pressure ulcer staging (Stages I-IV)
• Wound VAC therapy
• Debridement techniques (mechanical, enzymatic, autolytic)
• Wound cultures
• Ostomy care and management
• Braden Scale assessments
• Skin integrity and continence management
• Alginates, foams, hydrocolloids, hydrogels, silver products

Patient Population

• Pediatrics
• Adolescents
• Adults
• Geriatrics

Unit Highlights

• WOCN consult service covering Medical/Surgical and Trauma patients
• Uses Wound Scout thermal imaging technology
• Strong interdisciplinary support including PT, RT, Pharmacy, IV Team, Radiology, Social Services, and Rapid Response Teams
• Guaranteed contracted hours
• No weekends required
• No on-call requirement
