SR. EHS Specialist

Environmental, Health, and Safety ManagerProvide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to manufacturing facilities on injury management, incident reporting and investigations, Health and Safety Standards, Swisher Policies and Procedures, and safe work practicesEstablish and maintain the health and safety of the Swisher workforce and facilities by monitoring and evaluating health and safety conditions; assuring compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and governmental standards; and maintenance of the Safety Programs.Develop, review and update EHS Policies and procedures.Support the implementation of established safety programs, policies, and procedures to promote occupational safety and prevent workplace accidents.Coordinate with departmental management to review the compliance needs/requirements based on departments tasks/operations.Conduct regular EHS inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.Responsible for monitoring the activities in departments to ensure compliance with best practices are being followed.Conduct routine inspections and audits of the organization's procedures, facilities, and equipment to ensure regulatory compliance, proactively identify unsafe conditions, and implement safeguards and solutions, as directed by the Safety and Health Manager.Identify and correct potential human and environmental hazards by inspecting facilities, machinery, and safety equipment.Attend regulatory regulation compliance training as needed.Distribute and explain EHS materials and resources to educate the workforce and raise awareness of safety procedures and best practices.Schedule, coordinate, and assist with compliance training of employees.Educate, motivate, and train line supervision and production personnel in good housekeeping practices, safe work procedures, PPE, Environmental compliance, etc.Collaborate with Security Department on Business Continuity, Crisis Management Planning, and Annual Site Risk Assessments.Collaborate with various departments to integrate EHS considerations into operational processes, equipment design, and facility modificationsMonitor environmental performance, including waste management, air emissions, and wastewater discharge, and ensure compliance with environmental permits.Manage the Radiation Program including registration and audit as the Radiation Safety Officer for the Wheeling, West Virgina location.Manage and maintain EHS documentation, including permits, licenses, training records, incident reports, and compliance data.Track and report EHS incident rates and maintain required OSHA recordkeeping documentation, including Forms 300, 300A, and 301.Develop, track, and manage departmental EHS key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure performance, identify trends, and support continuous improvement.Performs other related duties as requiredQualifications:Required:Five to seven years of equivalent environmental, safety, and training experience.OSHA 30 certifiedPrevious experience in a manufacturing environmentExperience with administering a hazardous communication program, including managing and leading an emergency response team and Safety CommitteeDemonstrated experience in leveraging leading indicators to prevent injury and incidentsDemonstrated project planning, execution, and organizational skillsIn-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA, and DHHS standards and requirements as well as related State regulations and standardsExperience and understanding of document management systems and management of change systemsAbility to create effective presentations; facilitate small-group problem solving; provide one-on-one training; and work effectively with teamsStrong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skillsExperience in implementing EPA and OSHA training programsTraining and experience in incident investigationProficient in MS Office SuiteExcellent communication and advisory skillsRequires the ability to walk extensively, climb stairs, and ladders throughout diverse work environments as required by business demandsEducation:Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety and Health or related field.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in Safety and Health programs supporting heavy manufacturingEducation:Certified Safety professional (CSP) certificate from Board of Certified Safety Professions (BCSP)Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
