Industrial Forklift Operator

Hiring 1st Shift Forklift Operator!This role combines forklift operation and material handling responsibilities, with approximately half of the time spent operating sit-down electric forklifts and half focused on general material handling and production support. The position plays a key role in the efficient movement, storage, and staging of materials throughout the facility.ResponsibilitiesMove materials and supplies between receiving, manufacturing, shipping, and storage areas using a sit-down electric forklift.Control the issue and receipt of materials to production, verifying work order numbers, quantities, and the status of work orders.Receive incoming materials, verify quality, quantities, and purchase orders, apply labels according to requirements, and store materials in proper locations.Operate forklifts to load and unload steel coils and tubing, inspect and weigh coils to established standards, and write coil tickets and distribute copies as required.Ensure materials are correctly staged and clearly labeled with part numbers and quantities to support prompt delivery between manufacturing departments.Rotate materials using older materials first, or as manufacturing requires, to utilize plant space efficiently and support inventory control.Identify damaged materials and take appropriate action to address issues and maintain product quality.Maintain good housekeeping in work areas and follow established safety procedures at all times.Follow all policies, procedures, and work instructions, including the Employee Handbook, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Manufacturing Operating Procedures (MOPs), Job Safety Analysis (JSAs), and Safety Manual.Maintain awareness of individual contributions to quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance activities, and promptly report all quality issues, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the appropriate personnel.Essential SkillsProven forklift experience with prior licensing required, specifically with sit-down electric forklifts.Strong material handling skills in a production or general labor environment.Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions accurately.Ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce and communicate clearly with team members.Capability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally during an 8-hour shift.Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and crouch throughout an 8-hour shift.Manual dexterity to use hands and fingers to handle or feel machinery, equipment, or parts.Ability to work safely near moving mechanical parts and follow all safety guidelines.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Red Lion, PA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.68 - $20.68/hr.
