Apply now and you can join some of the best technical people in the world and work on projects you can be proud of!Your Key Responsibilities- Manage a team of design professionals and technicians- Mentor and supervise staff and develop high-performing project teams- Perform business development/application tasks and collaborates with staff to increase project wins and develop long lasting client relationships.Routine tasks include:Participate in business line teams to manage and develop proposalsClient facing for business development contact, meetings, walk-downs, and presentationsScope of work documents and estimatesCollaboration with multiple business lines to develop opportunitiesQuality reviewsAssist senior engineers/designers with developing and managing the project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.Perform complex engineering design tasks on assigned water/wastewater-related projects through collaboration with a wide range of technical disciplines.Routine technical tasks include:Design basis documentsEngineering calculations including water, heat, and material balancesEquipment sizing and selectionEngineering drawings such as block flow diagrams (BFDs), process flow diagrams (PFDs), and piping and instrumentation diagrams (PIDs)Engineering reportsFeasibility studiesPresentations to clients, regulatory agencies and/or project stakeholdersAssist with the management of the design and construction of projects.Develop project management plans for projects; establishes goals and objectives for unique and complex projects.Responsible for successfully establishing projects to achieve budget, schedule, and contractual obligations.Conduct and/or coordinate quality assurance and quality control on assigned projects and facilitates independent technical review projects by others.Involved in the permitting process of projects, which may require meeting with clients, contractors, interested stakeholder parties, reviewing agency personnel.Accountable for making decisions on large projects.Manage projects of varying complexity within multidisciplinary teamsResearch and understand issues related to regulatory and other drivers that impact individual projectsAssist business leaders in project revenue forecasting.Oversee proposals including development of the scope and level of effort of comparable size.Undertake decisions and recommendations governed by general policy and project management governance.Supervise local staff and responsible for providing mentoring and coaching for future leaders, including development of succession plans for key projects.Your Capabilities and Credentials- You inspire project teams to higher levels of achievement.- You consistently engage employees in discussions on job satisfaction and engagement and provide ongoing recognition and feedback to employees and teams.- Ability to perform mass & energy balance and process equipment sizing calculations and coordinate with other engineering disciplines including stress/structural, instrumentation & controls, and electrical.- Understanding of local and regional jurisdictional codes, legal and design requirements in relevant jurisdictions.Education and Experience:- Education: Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Engineering- Experience: Minimum of 15 years related experience in project management, preferably for water/wastewater projects.- Licensure: Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain license within 6 months.- Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus.- Demonstrated successful experience in leadership, including defining and setting the direction for a team, project, and office; strategy development; change management; and corporate stewardship.- Travel to other offices as well as to project sites may be required.Stantec is a place where the best and brightest come to build on each other's talents, do exciting work, and make an impact on the world around us.
