Quality Technician Aerotek is hiring for a Quality Technician in Sussex County, DE. This is a day shift position offering weekly pay! Job Description The Quality Technician inspects, cleans, finishes, and verifies fabricated metal products to ensure they meet customer specifications and internal quality standards. This role uses hand tools and precision measuring equipment to perform detailed quality inspections, documents results, and supports production flow by working closely with machine operators and material handlers. The Quality Technician also assists with packaging, counting finished goods, and maintaining accurate records to support traceability and inventory accuracy. Responsibilities Clean and prepare fabricated metal plates and components for inspection and shipment. Operate grinders and other hand tools to remove burrs, sharp edges, slag, and surface imperfections from metal parts. Perform finishing operations to ensure parts meet dimensional, cosmetic, and quality requirements. Conduct quality inspections using tape measures, calipers, gauges, and other measuring instruments. Verify product dimensions, tolerances, and specifications against drawings, work orders, and customer requirements. Accurately document inspection results and complete all quality-related paperwork and production records. Count and verify quantities of finished parts prior to packaging and shipment. Package products according to customer and company requirements to prevent damage during transport. Work collaboratively with machine operators to identify and address quality concerns during production. Coordinate with material handlers to ensure smooth movement of materials and finished products throughout the facility. Assist in maintaining product traceability and supporting inventory accuracy. Report quality defects, non-conformances, and production issues to supervisors or management in a timely manner. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company standards. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and established quality standards. Perform other duties as assigned to support production and quality objectives. Essential Skills Previous experience in manufacturing, metal fabrication, quality inspection, or production is preferred. Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and work instructions. Proficiency using tape measures, calipers, gauges, and other inspection equipment. Strong attention to detail and a consistent commitment to quality. Basic math skills, including measuring and calculating dimensions. Ability to complete paperwork accurately and maintain organized inspection records. Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment. Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity and quality standards. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in a structural steel or metal fabrication environment is beneficial. Experience working alongside machine operators, welders, and material handlers is an advantage. Comfort working in a smaller job shop environment with varied daily tasks. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Seaford, DE. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
