Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care in a hospital setting
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs, and synthesize data to develop and update individualized plans of care
• Demonstrate competence in caring for patients with complex problems and perform bedside point-of-care testing as required by the patient care plan
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient outcomes, communicate relevant information, and promote continuity of care
• Assess and anticipate discharge needs for patients and families, consulting appropriate resources for complex care or high-risk discharge planning situations
• Participate in unit goal development, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care initiatives while promoting a safe, clean, and secure environment

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience; 2+ years of Medical Surgical/Telemetry experience strongly preferred
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA or ARC

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing
• Experience identifying and addressing cultural and ethnic considerations in patient care planning
