Tankerman

Overview The primary responsibility of the Tankerman is to safely support Magnolia Fleet Operations. Responsibilities Work directly with vessel crew and shore-side staff to ensure they have the skills and resources necessary to achieve the company’s goals. Perform safe cargo transfer operations. They must be familiar with Magnolia Fleet’s and its customers’ policies, procedures, safety rules and regulations and must abide by them at all times. Report any hazardous or unsafe condition to the Captain and make “on the spot” corrections when capable. Train any new Tankerman or Deckhand in the appropriate policies, procedures, and company best practices to maintain a safe working environment. Handles lines, ties up barges in fleets or to docks. Assist in making locks or bridges. When not conducting cargo transfers, daily maintenance, and upkeep of the vessel, including the engine room. Chipping and painting General housekeeping and cleaning of the vessel Cooking Oil changes Lubricating machinery and equipment Maintaining and ensuring the quality control of the motor vessel’s Preventive Maintenance System Inspects machinery and equipment. Conducts on-site surveys of vessel equipment to determine maintenance and repair needs. Complete all required computer-based training as assigned. #J-18808-Ljbffr
