Senior Database AdministratorThe Senior Database Administrator provides technical support and guidance for IMC's MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB Database environments. This role will primarily focus on the administration of enterprise databases throughout the development, Test and production lifecycles, as well as providing database design leadership to development teams. The senior administrator should take ownership of our database environments and take pride in shaping the future of our database program. This role is part of IMC Companies' Information technology support services.This senior role also mentors and guides less experienced DBAs.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesUnderstanding of database management in an Enterprise environmentLeads capacity planning, data migration, and performance management for the assigned environments and integrate/execute with infrastructure capacity planning processesEnsure database backup/recovery, high availability, and data replicationCreation of jobs, stored procedures, and other database activities as neededControl of security of the database systems and how users interact with the dataMigration of data based on the needs of the CompanyDocumentation of database processesAbility to plan and execute Implementations of new data related applications and systemsAbility to review and implement new database designs based on developer requirementsAble to complete system performance tuning and diagnostic related tasksSystem health monitoring and proactive correction of issuesAble to work well with all areas of the IT departmentIdeal Skills/Knowledge IncludesProven analytical and problem-solving abilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to remain calm and professional at critical times when dealing with challenging situations.Scripting and automation experience preferredQualifications:Bachelor's degree, in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems (or equivalent experience).Requires Four (5+) years' work experience in Information Technology performing the duties of a database administrator.Ability to complete projects on time, including the necessary documentation, is a must.Other Skills / Abilities:Experience with MS SQL 64-bit Enterprise (incl. Clustering), PostgreSQL v16 & 17, MongoDB v8Working knowledge of PostgreSQL or EnterpriseDB database environmentsExperience managing ODBC connections, SQL jobs, stored procedures, and viewsSQL Clustering & HAScripting SQL Monitoring, alerting, and diagnosisOther duties as assigned
