Summary About the Position: This position is located at Martin Army Community Hospital; within, Department of Pathology Martin Army Community Hospital, Ft. Benning, GA Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Major Duties Determines and plans type and extent of services provided by the Microbiology Section.Initiates advanced, complicated, non-standardized procedures as well as the full range of specialized tests and non-routine procedures in the Microbiology Section.Consults with pharmacists, Infection Control Nurse, technical representatives, ancillary personnel, other government agency personnel.Monitors Quality Improvement process, reviews, and updates of standards and procedures for quality control in regard to test procedures, systems, and instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.Serves as a member of the Infection Control committee.Supervises civilian Clinical Laboratory Scientist and Medical Technicians assigned to the section.Organizes work and delegates assignments for all personnel assigned on the basis of normal division of duties of staff and units Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
