Title: RN II (CCCA) State Role Title: RN II/Nurse Prct I/Phy Asst Hiring Range: Starting Pay $84,418 (Depending on Experience) (Shift Differential Premium) Pay Band: 4 Agency: Dept Behavioral Health/Develop Location: Comm Ctr for Child & Adoles Agency Website: Job Duties The Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents, a Children’s Psychiatric Hospital, is seeking experienced nurses to fill the RN II position. CCCA offers up to a $25,000 Bonus for Registered Nurses that are new to state service and remain with the facility for 2 years. Bonuses $15,000 sign‑on bonus for new hires to state service with a one‑year written agreement Additional $10,000 retention bonus paid one year after hire date with a one‑year written agreement Above bonuses are available to Registered Nurses that are new to DBHDS or have not worked for at least one year for Department of Behavioral Health Developmental Services (DBHDS). Mission The mission of CCCA is to serve children and adolescents admitted to the Center by providing psychiatric diagnostic, evaluation, and treatment services of the highest quality attainable at a reasonable cost to the Commonwealth in coordination with the family, community services, and the professional community. The Center’s services are provided to Virginia’s youth toward the goal of improvement in their lives and development of their fullest potential. CCCA Nursing Department Mission The Mission of the CCCA Nursing Department is to skillfully assess children for medical and mental health concerns when admitted for acute psychiatric care. The Registered Nurse’s responsibility is to report accurate information to the psychiatrist, who will then direct the RNs regarding appropriate medication and treatment regime to put into place for the patient. Ability to lead educational groups. Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care utilizing knowledge of pharmacology, psychiatric disorders, and physical, psychological, and social needs of psychiatric adolescents or children. Competent with TOVA, CPR, and knowledge of lab values for children and adolescents. Basic computer skills. Ability to apply knowledge to meet child and adolescent needs in an inpatient psychiatric setting. Act as a resource person to communicate knowledge of the nursing process to other disciplines, community groups, and schools of nursing. Walking and/or standing for up to eight (8) hours or more; bending and lifting; ability to use TOVA techniques. May be exposed to aggressive patients; ability to work scheduled shifts and overtime hours or shifts as required.
