Overview: A leading healthcare system in Houston is seeking a Cytotechnologist to join its dynamic laboratory team. This full-time role is ideal for certified cytotechnologists or recent graduates eligible for certification. You'll play a vital role in identifying cellular abnormalities and supporting patient care in a collaborative, award-winning medical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine cytological examinations using established techniques and instrumentation
• Identify and interpret cellular abnormalities or inclusions in cytological preparations
• Apply knowledge of anatomy, pathology, and disease processes to accurately screen specimens
• Monitor quality control procedures and perform basic instrument maintenance
• Assist in patient care procedures as needed and document findings accurately
• Participate in training and mentoring of junior team members
• Demonstrate adherence to laboratory protocols and professional standards

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (required)
• Certification as a Cytotechnologist (CT(ASCP)) or Specialist in Cytology (SCT(ASCP)) , or eligibility to take the ASCP exam (required)
• Strong understanding of cytological techniques, laboratory safety, and diagnostic criteria
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to recognize cellular abnormalities
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment

• Holds active CT(ASCP) or SCT(ASCP) certification, or is a new graduate eligible to sit for the exam
