Job Title

Registered Nurse – Cardiac PCU / Stepdown (IMC/PCU)

Seattle, WA | Intermediate Care / Progressive Care Unit

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to Cardiac PCU patients including those with myocardial infarction, primary arrhythmias, coronary artery disease, heart failure, and stroke patients with cardiac involvement
• Manage pre- and post-operative open-heart surgery and vascular surgery patients, including chest tube care and sternal precautions
• Perform telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation and management; manage epicardial pacers and support patients with LVADs and structural heart devices (VAD, TAVR)
• Administer blood and blood products; perform or assist with cardioversion and defibrillation
• Provide care for pre- and post-cath lab patients with or without interventions, including groin and radial band management
• Float to like units as needed; expected to work every other weekend and commit to working 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Epic EMR experience is a hard-stop requirement
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 2–3 years of telemetry experience; surgical telemetry, open-heart surgery, and vascular experience required
• This unit does not accept first-time travelers; prior travel nursing experience is required
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible as a travel candidate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with VAD and/or TAVR patient management
• Proficiency with CPAP/BiPAP, tracheostomy care, and breathing treatments
• Familiarity with LVAD management and open-heart post-operative care (24–28 hours post-op)
• Experience with specialized structural heart support and sternal precaution protocols
