What You'll Do

In this role, you will:

• Perform maintenance and repairs to existing buildings and facility infrastructure.
• Assist with new building construction and renovation projects.
• Complete a variety of general and finish carpentry projects.
• Perform masonry installation, repair, and maintenance as needed.
• Install and maintain automated feed and facility support systems.
• Inspect buildings and equipment, identify maintenance needs, and recommend preventative improvements.
• Work closely with the Construction Supervisor to plan projects, prioritize work, and efficiently use materials and resources.
• Ensure all work meets quality standards and applicable building and safety requirements.
• Operate, maintain, and care for tools, equipment, and vehicles safely and responsibly.
• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and work records.
• Identify opportunities to improve workplace safety, efficiency, and facility performance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

What You Bring

Required Experience

• Two or more years of education, training, or hands-on experience demonstrating proficiency in general carpentry or construction trades.
• Valid New York State Driver's License.
• Basic computer skills for email, work order systems, and standard office software.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience performing building maintenance, facility repairs, and construction projects.
• Experience operating construction equipment, vehicles, and powered tools safely.

Work Environment

This position may require:

• Working indoors and outdoors in a variety of facility and construction settings.
• Working in changing weather conditions and varying temperatures.
• Performing physically active work including lifting, climbing, bending, kneeling, and working at heights or in confined spaces.
• Operating construction equipment, vehicles, and powered tools safely.
• Wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hearing protection and respiratory protection when necessary (requires employee to be clean shaven).
• Participating in required safety training and following all workplace safety procedures.
• Supporting emergency facility needs and seasonal operations as part of a collaborative team.

Schedule & Compensation

• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
• Weekend/On-Call Requirements: Participation in a rotating weekend and on-call schedule is required, including emergency response and seasonal snow removal as needed.
• Pay Grade: F4
• Pay Range: $20.69 - $31.05 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
