Description Certified Veterinary Technician- ER/ICU Company Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists Shift & Compensation Full‑time – Night shift, 3‑day work week. Sign‑on bonus: $2000 for qualified individuals. Role Responsibilities Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients. Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow. Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with state Veterinary Practice Act and credentialed veterinary technician requirements. Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments. Maintain comprehensive medical records with practice systems. Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts. Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs. Guide, mentor, and support fellow team members. Experience & Skills Requirements Preferred: CVT, CVT eligible, CVT students. Anesthesia experience is required. Strong knowledge of medical treatments, including CRI setup/maintenance, NG tubes, central line placement, glucose curves, post‑surgical care, oxygen‑dependent patients, blocked cats, etc. Strong knowledge of infectious diseases and systemic disorders. Accurate performance of routine in‑house laboratory procedures, including collection, preparation, and handling of all specimens. Up‑to‑date knowledge of laboratory testing and necessary sample submissions. Ability to articulate professional veterinary verbiage while maintaining a medical record. High level of communication with clients and referral partners. Knowledge of basic emergency care including CPR. Motivation and initiative to help teammates in any situation.
