Correctional Associate Warden

COO - OPS - Institutions Operations

This position is located at Carteret Correctional Center in Carteret County, NC and houses minimum custody male offenders. Reporting directly to the Correctional Warden, the Correctional Associate Warden of Operations is responsible for assisting the Warden in the total operations of the facility. Additionally, this position has direct management and supervisory responsibility for the operations of several critical functions to include the general day-to-day and the 24-hour operation of the facility. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Ensure the safety and security of the housing of male offenders housed at a minimum custody correctional institution and ensuring the safety of the staff and general public.
• Working closely with supervisors to provide guidance and direction on prison policies.
• Providing direction and structure for the work of the Correctional Captains, Correctional Lieutenants, Correctional Sergeants Correctional Officers, and support staff.
• During any extended period of absence of the Warden.

Salary Grade Range – $50,088.00 – $87,654.00

Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:

• Documented skills in supervision and management techniques
• Documented knowledge of supportive counseling or treatment programs
• Documented knowledge of services available to individuals from the community and other public and private programs

To be considered for a Correctional Associate Warden position, ALL applicants must:

• Meet Criminal Justice Standards requirements (12 NCAC 09G.0302)
• Pass a criminal background check
• Produce a negative drug screening result
• Successfully complete medical and psychological evaluations
• Possess a valid driver's license.
