Customer Service Representative – Inside SalesWe are seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented Customer Service Representative (Inside Sales) to provide exceptional customer service, technical product support, and sales assistance within an industrial distribution environment.This position is responsible for responding to customer inquiries, preparing quotes, processing orders, sourcing products, and coordinating with customers and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.The ideal candidate will have strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills, along with experience in sales, order processing, and industrial products or supply chain operations.Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service & Sales SupportRespond to customer inquiries and provide accurate product information, pricing, and availability.Prepare customer quotes and process incoming sales orders.Deliver professional and responsive customer service to ensure customer satisfaction.Proactively generate sales opportunities and promote company products and services.Negotiate sales and purchase prices with customers and suppliers.Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and business partners.Troubleshoot customer concerns and provide timely, effective solutions.Order Processing & Product SourcingReceive, review, and process customer orders accurately and efficiently.Source products based on customer specifications, availability, and requirements.Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure orders are fulfilled correctly.Monitor outstanding orders and expedite backorders as necessary.Communicate order status, availability, and delivery updates to customers.Assist with customer returns and related order adjustments.Ensure accurate order documentation and follow established procedures.Inventory & Shipping SupportAssist with pulling inventory to fulfill customer orders.Support the preparation of products and materials for shipment.Coordinate with warehouse and inventory personnel to ensure timely order fulfillment.Help resolve inventory discrepancies and product availability issues.Support shipping and distribution activities as needed.Administrative & Operational SupportMaintain accurate customer, product, and order information.Communicate with customers, suppliers, and internal departments through email and other communication channels.Utilize Microsoft Office applications to support daily sales and customer service activities.Manage multiple customer requests, orders, and priorities simultaneously.Maintain organized records and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding items.Required QualificationsEducationHigh school diploma or GED required.Experience & SkillsStrong customer service and communication skills.Previous industry or sales experience.Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize competing deadlines.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Reliable, focused, and able to work independently.Moderate computer proficiency, including professional email communication.Experience using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.Ability to interact professionally with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.Strong time management and problem-solving abilities.Preferred QualificationsPrevious inside sales or industrial distribution experience.Knowledge of industrial products and related applications.Familiarity with supply chain systems and processes.Experience with product sourcing, order entry, and order fulfillment.Experience preparing quotes, negotiating pricing, and managing customer orders.Understanding of inventory management, shipping, and returns processes.Technical SkillsMicrosoft ExcelMicrosoft WordMicrosoft OutlookEmail communicationOrder processing and trackingSupply chain systemsProduct sourcing and inventory coordinationCore CompetenciesCustomer service orientationSales and persuasion skillsAchievement orientationInitiative and accountabilityInterpersonal and communication skillsTime managementPlanning and organizationSound judgment and decision-makingAttention to detailMultitasking and prioritizationProblem-solving and follow-throughNesco Resource offers a comprehensive benefits package for our associates, which includes a MEC (Minimum Essential Coverage) plan that encompasses Medical, Vision, Dental, 401K, and EAP (Employee Assistance Program) services.
