Registered Nurse - Psychiatric

Job Summary:
Provide specialized psychiatric nursing care to patients in a Behavioral Health unit, ensuring safety, support, and effective treatment. Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver compassionate mental health services and promote patient recovery.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' mental health status and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and monitor for adverse effects according to physician orders.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and emergencies, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
• Document patient progress, interventions, and responses accurately in medical records.
• Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, coping strategies, and discharge instructions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Active RN license in North Carolina or relevant state.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Behavioral Health or psychiatric nursing.
• Strong knowledge of mental health disorders, medications, and therapeutic interventions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse patient populations.
• Ability to handle high-stress situations with professionalism and compassion.
• CPR and Crisis Prevention certifications required or willingness to obtain.
