Specialty Pharmacy Technician

We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support ambulatory pharmacy operations at the Menlo Park and Palo Alto campus. This role focuses on documentation, prescription processing, and coordinating specialty medication deliveries. The department is undergoing two major initiatives this year, including a pharmacy location transition from Palo Alto to Menlo Park, and this role will be key in supporting that move and ongoing operational growth. This is an excellent opportunity for a technician seeking long-term stability, particularly those interested in ambulatory pharmacy practice within an academic medical centre environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform extensive documentation within EPIC.
• Process specialty prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
• Coordinate and track medication deliveries with FedEx and other courier services.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams to ensure timely patient service.
• Support departmental transitions and operational improvements.
• Contribute to ongoing ambulatory pharmacy projects.
• Maintain compliance with pharmacy regulations and internal procedures.

Essential Skills

• Active Pharmacy Technician license (state-appropriate).
• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working with EPIC (preferred, not required).
• Interest in ambulatory/outpatient pharmacy operations.
• Comfortable in hospital-affiliated clinical environments (non-inpatient).
• Adaptable and comfortable with departmental change and growth.
• Collaborative, organised, and service-oriented.

Work Environment

The work environment requires flexibility to start between 7:00 AM to 10:30 AM. It involves working within an academic medical centre, focusing on ambulatory pharmacy operations. The role is best suited for those comfortable with change and growth, ensuring a collaborative and service-oriented

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Palo Alto, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
