MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To maintain the mailroom for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in receiving, processing, and delivering all DNR mail and assist with Fleet Management.

POSITION DUTIES

The Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Finance and Administrative Services, 580 Taylor Avenue, B-4, Annapolis, MD 21401 is currently accepting applications for a Services Specialist, a skilled service position. A Services Specialist is the full performance level of work directing one or more general services functions such as but not limited to: building, housekeeping, groundskeeping services; risk management; fleet management; forms management; mail/courier services; inventory, purchasing and supplies; clerical services; receptionist/switchboard; records management; reproduction services; security service; space allocations; and telecommunications for State departments, agencies or facilities. Employees in this classification do not supervise.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. Experience: Two years of experience in general services functions, office administration activities or in the receiving, storing, issuance, purchase or requisition of equipment, materials, and parts and supplies. Notes: Candidates may substitute additional experience on a year‑for‑year basis for the required education. Notes: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non‑commissioned officer in logistics specialist classifications or administrative support specialty codes in the logistics field of work, on a year‑for‑year basis for the required experience.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

Valid Driver’s License with 5 or fewer points required.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants with minor vehicle maintenance experience preferred. Applicants with mailroom experience preferred. One year of Customer Service Experience.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
