The Residential Treatment Counselor LPC-A plays a critical role in overseeing and ensuring the quality of clinical services within a residential treatment setting. This position involves supervising clinicians, reviewing clinical documentation, guiding therapeutic interventions, and promoting compliance with regulatory and agency standards. The counselor supports professional development and ensures coordinated care while addressing complex clinical cases and enhancing overall treatment effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the quality and integrity of clinical services provided by assigned clinicians
- Review and approve assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge summaries
- Ensure therapeutic interventions align with evidence-based practices and licensure scope
- Provide individual and group supervision to licensed and associate-level clinicians
- Evaluate clinical competencies and support skill development
- Audit clinical documentation for accuracy, medical necessity, and timeliness
- Ensure compliance with licensing board regulations, agency policies, and funding requirements
- Facilitate case reviews and clinical staffing meetings
- Offer guidance on complex cases, risk assessments, and treatment modifications
- Promote coordinated care among providers, case managers, medical professionals, and community partners
- Identify clinical service delivery trends and recommend improvements
- Participate in program evaluations and performance improvement initiatives
- Address ethical concerns and ensure supervisees maintain appropriate boundaries
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field
- Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A)
- Experience with assessment and diagnosis
- Skilled in treatment planning and risk assessment
- Strong ethical decision-making abilities
- Proficient in documentation and record keeping
- Experience in group and individual therapy
