Assistant Store Manager – Part‑time We’re seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our team and help with store operations, customer service, and team development. The role is located at 3820 Inner Perimeter Rd, Valdosta, Georgia 31602, Family Dollar . Responsibilities Assist with store functions and daily store activities Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns Organize, transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom/sales floor and maintain seasonal areas of the store Perform opening and closing procedures Process all corporate directives (Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey, information requests, and other store communications) Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits and receipts) Maintain lost‑prevention safeguards and store assets including cash Ensure store areas are well stocked, organized, and meet company standards Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines and ensure that all store associates follow company policies Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates Provide a positive, safe, and respectful environment and maintain professional, friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and ensuring all areas are neat and presentable Provide required license documentation for alcoholic beverage/tobacco sales when required by local jurisdiction; failure to comply may result in disciplinary action Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (preferred) Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives (e.g., merchandise schematics) Previous store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment (preferred) Physical ability to lift up to 55lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills Ability to work in a high‑energy, team environment Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills Benefits Medical, pharmacy, dental, and vision insurance Employee Assistance Program Retirement plans Educational Assistance Other health, wealth, and mental‑wellbeing programs Equal Opportunity & Legal Notice We are an equal‑opportunity employer committed to complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and providing reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities.
