The Clinical Nurse 2 is responsible for delivering comprehensive, patient‑centered care for a diverse population of patients in the Joint Venture Rehabilitation Hospital. The role includes assessment, planning, implementation, teaching, documentation, and evaluation of a nursing plan of care, while ensuring compliance with UC policies and regulations, and providing leadership and education to staff and patients. Key Responsibilities 70% – Nursing Process and Practice 15% – Quality and Evidence-Based Practice 5% – Leadership 5% – Professional Development 5% – Research Minimum Qualifications Valid California Registered Nurse License without restriction AHA or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), or UC Davis Health CPR certification Graduation from an accredited school of nursing At least one year of recent inpatient rehabilitation experience within the last three years Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) Ability to use medical terminology appropriately Knowledge of current trends in nursing Commitment to excellence in patient care Effective interpersonal skills Demonstrated accountability and professionalism Adaptability to change in a positive, professional, and productive manner Knowledge of legal implications in clinical practice and documentation Knowledge of performance improvement and evidence-based practice Basic computer skills Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, considering protective interventions and patient-specific characteristics Preferred Qualifications Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) Department Overview The Joint Venture Rehabilitation Hospital provides a full range of rehabilitation services designed to restore patients to their optimal functional capacity. The 52‑bed facility is located on the Sacramento medical center campus and includes a 12‑bed brain injury unit and four private bariatric rooms.
