Senior Principal Software Engineer, Digital Product R&D

Edwards Lifesciences seeks a Senior Principal Software Engineer to design and deliver scalable, production-quality software solutions for medical devices in a regulated environment. This hands-on role combines individual technical contribution with leadership responsibilities, emphasizing cloud-native development and generative AI integration.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, prototype, test, and deploy production-quality software across the full development lifecycle
- Lead design and development of scalable cloud-native applications, services, APIs, and data solutions
- Translate complex system requirements into technical designs and drive implementation through delivery
- Provide technical leadership through code reviews, architectural discussions, and mentoring while maintaining significant individual contribution
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, systems, clinical, quality, and cybersecurity teams to meet regulatory and customer requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field with 10+ years experience, or Master's with 8+ years experience
- Strong hands-on proficiency in C#, .NET, TypeScript/JavaScript, Angular, RESTful APIs, SQL, Git, CI/CD, and automated testing
- Demonstrated experience designing modern architectures including microservices, distributed systems, and cloud-native applications
- Hands-on cloud development experience with Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, or equivalent platforms
- Proven proficiency with generative AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar technologies
- Practical experience applying GenAI to software engineering activities including code generation, debugging, and testing
