The Opportunity You'll provide immediate, high-quality care to sick and injured companion animals, managing cases from initial triage and assessment through diagnosis, treatment and discharge or ongoing hospitalization. Your responsibilities will include:
•Rapid triage and critical patient assessment
•Diagnosing complex emergency cases
•Developing and overseeing treatment plans
•Managing hospitalized patients
•Performing emergency and soft-tissue surgeries
•Providing critical care and stabilization
•Working closely with experienced veterinary technicians
•Communicating clearly with clients during high-stress situations
•Collaborating with specialists and referring veterinarians
•Maintaining consistently high standards of patient and client care The hospital operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, providing an important emergency resource to pets and their families throughout the greater Washington Metropolitan area. About You The ideal candidate will be a confident veterinarian who enjoys the pace and clinical variety of emergency medicine and is committed to delivering excellent patient care during critical moments. Requirements include:
•DVM, VMD or equivalent veterinary degree
•Active veterinary license in the state of employment and in good standing
•Active DEA license or eligibility to obtain one
