Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job

Overview Registered Nurse – Med Surg (Stroke Stepdown), travel assignment in Utica, NY, United States. Start date 09/06/2026. This 13-week assignment offers 36 guaranteed hours per week with a shift pattern of 2x3 Nights. Weekly pay ranges from $2,190 to $2,292. The role takes place in a hospital setting on a 64-bed Med Surg Stroke Stepdown unit with floating to related units as needed. EPIC is the electronic medical record used for documentation. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care for adult Med Surg stroke stepdown patients, including frequent neuro checks and monitoring Administer medications and therapies per physician orders; document in EPIC; monitor for adverse reactions Assess and respond to changes in neurologic status, vital signs, and overall clinical condition; collaborate with the interdisciplinary team Implement and update individualized care plans; coordinate with physicians, case management, and ancillary services Manage devices and treatments common to stroke stepdown care (IV pumps, feeding tubes as indicated) and ensure patient safety Float to other units as assigned; adhere to unit protocols and infection control practices Requirements Active New York State Registered Nurse license; Nursys verification of license Current American Heart Association BLS certification NIHSS certification or NIHSS proficiency required for this unit (can be obtained prior to start) Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience with stroke/stepdown exposure; travel experience required EMR experience, preferably EPIC; ability to document accurately and efficiently RTO requests must be included at submission; ability to float to other units as needed Scrub color and unit-specific guidelines will be provided on assignment; ability to meet unit standards Benefits and Support Dedicated support throughout the assignment with access to a travel-focused recruiter 24/7 travel support and guidance during the assignment Fast credentialing and start-up processes to minimize delays Travel-focused resources and guidance for navigating assignments Opportunities to extend or explore additional openings across similar roles #J-18808-Ljbffr HealthForce Healthcare
