Key Responsibilities Be a strategic thought partner to key collaborators across disease area, brand, corporate, and other cross‑functional teams supporting Amgen’s Obesity group. Synthesize information from multiple sources to develop strategic insights and points of view on competitive developments, their implications to Amgen, and required actions. Work cross‑functionally and manage changing priorities across several key customers. Develop productive relationships with Global and Regional teams to define business problems and design integrated analysis plans using standard methodologies. Apply structured problem‑solving to collect, analyze, and report competitive intelligence, incorporating primary and secondary data sources to generate meaningful insights. Articulate and educate customers on how market dynamics impact their business from a CI perspective. Organize and facilitate strategic exercises and competitive simulations to generate insights and company plans. Coordinate and facilitate CI collection efforts at major medical conferences and congresses. Manage a network of primary data sources, including vendors and Amgen employees, to ensure effective project delivery. Assess the reliability of CI research findings, maintaining high standards for accuracy, relevance, and quality in all deliverables. Present regularly in-depth analyses and summaries of results, interpreting and communicating recommendations to key stakeholders. Work to grow competitive intelligence and strategy to support additional functions within the organization. Abide by and enforce Amgen’s CI Legal and Ethical Guidelines with internal colleagues and agencies. Qualifications Basic: Doctorate or Master’s + 2 years consulting/CI OR Bachelor’s + 4 years consulting/CI OR Associate’s + 8 years consulting/CI OR High school diploma or GED + 10 years consulting/CI. Preferred: Advanced degree (PhD, MS, MBA) focused on life sciences and business. Experience in life‑science consulting work in Obesity. Familiarity with the biopharma industry. Relevant obesity project experience or disease‑area knowledge. Prior strategy or management consulting experience in biopharma with increasing responsibility. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and analyze data to support critical business decisions. Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills—able to explain complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences. Project‑management skills—able to manage multiple, simultaneous projects and diverse data sources.
