Adult Mental Health Nurse

Dominion Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking an Adult Mental Health Nurse to join our dedicated Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide compassionate, patient-centered care to adult patients with a wide range of psychiatric and behavioral health needs in an acute inpatient setting. You will conduct comprehensive mental health and physical assessments, participate in admission and discharge processes, and collaborate closely with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. As an Adult Mental Health Nurse, you will administer medications, monitor therapeutic responses and side effects, and provide ongoing observation and documentation using our electronic health record systems. You will play a key role in crisis intervention and de‑escalation, maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment while supporting patients through episodes of acute distress, suicidality, mood instability, or psychosis. You will lead and participate in patient education, psychoeducation groups, and family communication to support recovery, adherence to treatment, and successful transition plans. Working within Dominion Hospital’s supportive and collaborative culture, you will model compassionate, evidence‑based practice and uphold all safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Daily responsibilities include monitoring vital signs and behavioral status, responding to behavioral emergencies, implementing nursing interventions and provider orders, and contributing to ongoing evaluations of patient progress. You will advocate for patient needs, respect diverse backgrounds, and use trauma‑informed, therapeutic communication in all interactions.
