We will be working to develop hypersonic and ballistic missile defense concepts to address future threats. This is a great opportunity to see the up-front engineering work! Join the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) team as a Missile System Architect that will be a technical lead for a team focused on future missile concepts. This includes defining mission needs, setting top-level system requirements, defining the top-level system architecture, and demonstrating the capability that the solutions will bring to the customer. The ideal candidate will be organized, flexible, have strong interpersonal skills, have the ability to manage multiple tasks, and enjoy a fast paced, dynamic environment. In this role you will:Lead the team to define mission requirements and develop top-level system architecturesLead the team in performing trade studies for mission and system architecture and CONOPS decisionsSynthesize the results of trade studies into a concept architecture that meets the customer's needsLead technical reviews, including presentations to internal and external stakeholdersBasic Qualifications:Experience in Systems Architecture or Systems Engineering, or related engineering field with detailed knowledge of Systems Engineering concepts and processesExperience in multiple Engineering functions, such as: Performing System Trade Studies, Performing System Modeling & Analysis activities, or developing System Architecture and CONOPSExperience as a technical lead to a multi-disciplinary teamActive or Current SECRET level clearance.Ability and willingness to obtain LM Systems Architect certification within 12 months of starting in this roleDesired Skills:Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers, leaders, and customersTechnical experience on missile or missile defense development programsPrevious experience with concept developmentExperience with Model-Based Systems Engineering practices and tools, including DOORS and CameoCurrent LM Systems Architect certification, at the Qualified level or higherExperience interfacing with customers and internal stakeholders communicating the capabilities of the systems, and identify risks and mitigation plansExperience developing key performance measures, as appropriate, subject to cost and schedule constraints and factorsExperience developing mission needs, operational user community needs, and assessing the impact of technical changes to mission performanceSecurity Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
