Grant Watts Elementary- Special Education Teacher - 2026-27

Position requirements: Bachelors Degree TSPC Licensure in Special Education

This position provides an environment that is safe and conducive to learning while providing Special education services to a diverse population of students in a structured classroom setting. The teacher will instruct students, maintain student discipline and is responsible for student academic achievement. Specific focus in supporting students with needs in self-regulation, executive functioning, and social-emotional functioning. Applicants should have experience working with students who need support in making positive behavioral choices. Additional training will be provided to applicants if needed to support this area.

Position responsibilities include:

  • Support and consult with the classroom teacher regarding ways to modify instruction and materials for students with learning and/or behavioral disabilities and other handicapping conditions.
  • Provide specially designed instruction to assist students in the acquisition of skills and knowledge necessary to achieve the goals of the Individual Education Plan (IEP), as well as the State Benchmark Standards.
  • Ensure that all district, state, and federal guidelines regarding pre-referrals (SST), referrals, testing, recordkeeping, and service delivery for students with disabilities are strictly followed.
  • Develop a positive working relationship with students, staff, administration, parents, and community.
  • Maintain professional confidentiality concerning individual students' data and achievement.

Salary: $52,168-106,048** Based on Experience Verification (Salary shown reflects 25-26 salary schedule. Actual amount to be determined upon conclusion of certified negotiations.) 3% of salary stipend per SEA contract Contract: 190 Days + 5 Extended Contract Days
